Laconic Set to Glow this Winter

You can now find a selection of Laconic jewellery in Arteria Gallery, Lancaster, as part of their Glow exhibition, where Winter darkness transforms into sparkling art.

The exhibition contains a variety of arts and crafts, which all respond to the theme 'Glow':

"As nights draw in, our gallery transforms into a celebration of light. The Winter Exhibition fills the space with sculptures, paintings, ceramics, textiles and jewellery that reveal craftsmanship at its finest. Independent artisans bring their contemporary creations that gleam as if lit from within, inviting you to linger and look closer. From October 3rd, discover a season of art that glows against the dark. The first-floor gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am–5pm. Step inside and carry brightness with you into the night."

My pieces inspired by 'Beira' are included in this exhibition. According to Scottish folklore, she is said to be the Queen of Winter. She reigns over this season, casting her icy blasts wherever she goes as she wanders across the land. Beira has many tales about her, including how she formed mountains using her magic hammer. The forms in my collection mimic mountains shapes, valleys, fractures and fissures in the rocks, with silver collections glowing as if these miniature mountains were covered in snow.
